My father gave me this dollhouse for my 40th birthday. He had the shingles applied to the roof and the doors hung, but otherwise it was an empty shell. He proceeded to paint and paper. It was every ‘big girls’ dream. Last Christmas we brought it downstairs to the dining room table for my annual Christmas tea. The ladies loved it and proceeded to talk about the own dollhouses, or one in the attic they ought to go home and haul out. (I encouraged them to do so because it is never too late to finally FINISH what was bought so long ago.)
Below is the Keeping Room and Dining Room and Upstairs Play Room. Collecting and making furniture, needlepointing the rugs, this is the joy of an adult miniature dollhouse owner. Why not bring your old dollhouse out this year and play Christmas. Invite grandchildren, friends and family to enjoy a cup of tea…you’re never too old.
